
Richard Mannoia / Clarinet
Richard Mannoia continues to engage audiences with a wide variety of repertoire. He has performed with such orchestras as the New York City Opera Orchestra, Chicago Civic Orchestra, New Jersey Pops, Haddonfield Symphony, and Manhattan Virtuosi. He has appeared in chamber music and recitals in Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Town Hall, BAM, Weill Hall and Merkin Concert Hall. This season Richard returns to the interdisciplinary performance collaborative, VisionIntoArt, performing new music with theater, poetry, dance and film. Richard received first prizes in the International Glenn Miller Competition and Atlantic Wind Symphony Concerto Competition. He has been freelancing in the New York area since graduating from Manhattan School of Music and, in addition to local performances, he has performed abroad extensively in countries as far reaching as South Africa, Nepal, Serbia, and Paraguay. Richard maintains a deep commitment to educational outreach and teaches and performs for the New York Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall. As a consultant, Richard has trained musicians, curated concerts, and designed curriculum for many organizations including the New York Philharmonic, New York City Opera, 92nd St Y, Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space, Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Guggenheim Museum. He has also taught at the Professional Performing Arts High School, coached chamber music at Juilliard Pre-College, and coached graduate chamber music at Manhattan School of Music for educational outreach performances. Richard is a founding member of the innovative chamber music series, Music Unlocked! Concerts, creating, producing, and performing concerts most recently for Carnegie Hall and the 92nd St Y. This season Richard continues creating and producing programs for a new project, MishMash Concerts, which fuse chamber music and audience participation in non-traditional ways.
